GREYHOUND SERVICE.

For many years my job was as the grader (Handicapper) at many of the leading Greyhound Tracks throughout the Southern Counties. Throughout that time one thing never changed, no matter what I did I could never please anyone, If they lost a few in one grade and I moved them to an easier grade, they got no price and were far from happy about that. Then if one was winning too often and they were starting to get no price they moaned, so move them about, they get the higher price, but didn't win so many, again moaning, and always my fault. I am sure that you all know what I mean and in truth when the offer came to retire a little early I took it, my pension is not up to much, but at least now I have a fairly stress free life. Of course it goes without saying that once the word got around that I was about to retire they moaned about that as no one knew who was going to replace me, just glad now to be out of it.

The main problem that I had when having retired was that I had to take a drop in income and then set about finding a way to supplement my pension. I now do a fair bit of work for Trainers on the Exchanges, as I am sure you are aware use of the Exchanges and betting in general is not something a Greyhound Trainer can get involved with. That kicked started things off for me really, while I was sat in front of my computer doing that for them, why not extend it a little to a few friends and charge them a commission and from there I was then asked if I could supply a few of their friends something to have a bet with, and that is how this service has come about.

GREYHOUNDS TO BACK ON THE DAILY BAGS CARDS.

When I was looking to extend this service a couple of months ago I called around a few people I know who run or used to run internet services for advice and was lucky enough to contact the owner of Mayfair Racing who told me that he had passed this business over to his Sons as he was now living out of the Country for most of the year. He told me how basically they had made a complete hash of things with customers and Authors, and that if I was prepared to put the work in he would supply me with everything connected with this business and then I could pay for it as I managed to get things turned around. So from the 1st of November 2007 this site and business is being run by me and I intend to give it my best shot.

The main reason, as I have already said for taking this site on was to promote and increase my Greyhound advice service, so now let me tell you about that. One thing that you try to do as a grader is to try and match every Greyhound up with dogs that are in the same grade, or as near as possible to that. One thing that I have learnt over many, many years is that no matter how hard you try you will never reach that goal. I can go through any Greyhound card and with my years of knowledge narrow it down to two, sometimes three dogs that are going to be there or there abouts at the finish, and I am right over 70% of the time. And the good thing about Greyhound racing is that you get value in the betting ring, many times you will see cf3 at 3/1, 7/2, so by just going level stakes on the two dogs that are in with the best chance you are going to make a profit on the race, and even with the odd miss throughout the card you can make a healthy profit per meeting.

As an example lets take a normal morning BAGS meeting of 12 races and say that we have selections in 7 of those races, on average we would expect to get a result in about 5 of those races. So working on that I would have 5 winning races at prices of not below 3/1 to a £5 stake. That would mean my winnings from those races would be £75, £10 per race, minus the £10 I would have staked on the 2 selections in the losing 2 races I have a profit of £55, times that by two morning meetings and the two afternoon meetings and a good weekly profit can be averaged. I accept that not every dog will return at 3/1, some will be higher and some will be lower, and of course it must not be taken as read that I get 5 from 7 winners every meeting, but with just an average of 4 (50%) at prices greater than 3/1 you can still do the maths and work out that a profit can easily be gained.

So here is the service that I am offering to you and which I am presently running for friends at the moment, not that it earns me anything, I just don’t have to buy any drinks down the local of a weekend. Everyday Monday to Friday and on the odd Saturday, but I will explain more about that shortly. I will send you the full days selections for all the four BAGS meetings that are taking place, morning and afternoon, plus two of the evening meetings that are taking place, these will normally be the ones that start around the 6.30 mark. On the odd occasion you will find that there are three selections, but you will find that by even doing the odd race with three selections you will still make a profit. How much you put on those is up to you and your business. You will also find that in the odd race, on average about 5 per meeting there will be a dog that is suitable for laying for those that use the exchanges. I personally would not lay anything that trades over 4/1 (5.0 in Exchange figures) and that is what I am on the look out for.

So how then do I make my money. Quite simply by being paid for the work that I do. As I have said everyday I will send you the selections from all four Morning and Afternoon BAGS meetings, plus 2 of the evening meetings, the evening meetings that we cover will be those that are available on the Exchanges. You will receive all selections that are to be looked at in the win market, plus those that it is considered suitable to look at laying on the exchanges. The cost for that will be £24 per month, or 20 days, that works out at £1.20 per day. We look at 1 month as 4 weeks at 5 working days per week, so that is 20 days per month payable. Whenever possible I will try to get out selections, back and lay for the two Saturday Morning meetings (Romford & Crayford), but these will not count towards your 20 days per month for which you are paying.

That then is the service that I am offering. On average it takes me between 2 to 3 hours in the morning to go through all the races that make’s up the BAGS meetings, and hope that you agree that I am not being greedy in what I am charging. If that is of interest to you then below are the simple rules that you agree to by joining and taking up membership.
