As I am sure you are aware there are at present many services around that claim to point you in the right direction when it comes to backing horses. Some are good and some are not very clever at all, but most of these seem to point you in the direction of horses that will actually win the race. However there are selected horses that if backed in the place market represent better value than those that are backed in the win market.

 

     A horse that is 8/1 is better value than a horse at 2/1 in the win market, the 2/1 shot has to actually win the race in order for you to get paid out, whereas the 8/1 shot only has to make it into the first 3 in order for you to get paid out, this means that an 8/1 shot represents the better value although both will return 2 times your money.

 

     Now for some details in respect to this service. Over the last few months I have been operating an account for a person that works in racing, but not in the UK. Due to the laws of the land that he resides in gambling is forbidden, although they had one of the best race tracks in the World, and once the new one is finished will carry on having so.

    

     As he is unable to place any bets I have been doing that for him. Over the few months that I have been operating for him he has shown profit week after week, most weeks more than doubling his starting bank at the start of the week. All of his bets are in the place market, and on looking at what he does these seem to represent excellent value.

 

     Where he actually sources his information from I am not sure, I know that he is in contact with many yards over here in the UK so it is easy to work out that he is operating with inside information, and it would appear from results achieved so far he has sources of very good information.

 

     Below I will place the daily results, and what you will notice is that although a large proportion place, about 25% do actually win the race, and at the odds returned do represent a worthwhile look. With this in mind when backing I use the following method: If I have a starting bank of £50 at the start of the week I stake as follows: 10% of bank on the place bet (£5) and 5% of bank on the win bet (£2.50). This I do for the whole week regardless of  profits, then at the end of the week withdraw 50% of my ending total and carry on from there. So if at the end of the week the total in my bank is £150 I withdraw £75 and fix stakes for the following week accordingly.

 

     As you will notice the average amount of selections per day is around 5 to 6, when evening racing gets under way proper there will be more. Selections will be sent most days, and you will get a minimum of 5 days per week and the weekly cost reflects that, if 6 days are sent in any week then there will be no extra charge for that. Selections will be sent daily before 12 noon each morning, and the previous days results will be posted the following morning.

 

     The cost of the service is £15.00 per week, and the guarantee to ensure that you make a profit is as follows: each selection will have a mythical £2 staked on it at a quarter of the odds, making an 8/1 shot a return price of 2/1, any week where that fails to generate a profit of £30 means that the following week is free, and so on until a week with £30 profit shows. That is concrete even if the profit shows £29.99 as that is not £30 or over.
